ABC (Adults, Babies and Children)
ABC (Adults, Babies and Children) is a child-friendly service held in the Parish Hall on Thursdays (term time only) at 2 pm finishing around 3 pm so that parents are able to leave in time to collect their older children from school.
The ABC service aims to teach the children an understanding of the Christian faith in a fun and entertaining way. The service takes about 20 minutes and includes children’s choruses, stories aimed at preschoolers using visual aids, and ends with the children taking part in a marching band using musical instruments.
This is followed by tea, coffee, juice and biscuits and playtime. This is a time for mums, carers, grandparents and other adults to sit and chat whilst the children play together with a large selection of toys.
We hold some of our special services, like Easter, in church so that the children can begin to feel at home inside the building. We follow these services with playtime as usual in the Parish Hall.
In December the children take part in our Nativity Play in Church. On the last ABC in December we hold our Christmas Party and Father Christmas joins us with a gift for each child.
On the last Sunday in June we walk with the ABC Banner in the annual Walking Day, and in July we enjoy our Teddy Bears’ Picnic at our last session before the holidays.
Everyone is welcome, so come along on Thursday and see if you and your children would like to join us.
